This policy explains what 13 Melbourne Taxi collects through this website, why we collect it and what happens to it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect
We only collect what you give us in a form, plus basic website statistics.
- Bookings: your name, mobile number, email address, pickup and drop off addresses, date and time, the car you choose, any extras, a flight number if you add one and any notes for the driver.
- Contact and parcel enquiries: your name, your message and the email address or phone number you give us.
- Your location, only if you ask: if you tap the locate button, your device shares its position so the pickup address can be filled in. Nothing is shared unless you tap it.
- Website statistics: Google Analytics records how the site is used, such as pages viewed and buttons clicked, using cookies. It does not give us your name.
Why we collect it
To arrange your trip, send the right car, contact you about the booking, send your booking confirmation by email, answer your enquiry and keep a record of the trip. Website statistics help us see which pages are useful and fix the ones that are not.
Who we share it with
- The driver assigned to your trip receives what they need to do the job: your name, phone number, the addresses, the time and your notes.
- Addresses typed into the booking form are sent to Google Maps to find the location, the distance and the route for your fare estimate.
- Booking emails are sent through Google’s email service.
- We may disclose information where the law requires it.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with anyone for their marketing.
How long we keep it
Booking and enquiry records are kept for as long as we need them to provide the service, handle any questions about a trip and keep normal business records. You can ask us to delete yours sooner, unless we have to keep it by law.
Keeping it secure
Booking records are stored on a secured website server and are only available to the people who manage bookings. No website is completely secure, so please do not send card numbers or other sensitive details through a form or by email.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
Email info@13melbournetaxi.com.au or call 0405 678 001 to ask what we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted. We will reply within a reasonable time.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will try to fix it. If it is still not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website or the way we handle bookings changes. The current version is always on this page.
